Anyone -- your physician, pharmacist, caregiver, family member or translator -- can record the prescription information directly into Talking Rx. Patients can also record necessary information themselves, if they believe that listening will provide an easy-to-use reminder of the instructions and the bottle's contents. Talking Rx fits around the bottom of the prescription bottle. Once the instructions are recorded and the bottle is inserted into Talking Rx, it is securely attached and ready to use.

Hold the prescription bottle at least three inches from your ear. Push and release the red button on the side of the device. Just listen and follow the pre-recorded instructions.

CAN BE USED OVER AND OVER

When the prescription bottle is empty, you can remove the Talking Rx. You can then attach it to a refill bottle or it can be re-recorded and attached to a new prescription bottle.

HOW TO RECORD A MESSAGE

Locate the recessed button inside Talking Rx, and activate the recording function by depressing the button with the stylus that is in the package.

The button MUST be kept depressed during the entire time you are recording. The memo recorder has a built-in sixty-second chip, which provides plenty of time to record necessary information. Samples of the information that can be recorded include:

  1. Name of the medication and the name of the person for whom it is prescribed
  2. Instruction for proper use including time of day and number of capsules or tablets to take
  3. Any special instructions or possible side effects
  4. Name and telephone numbers of physician and pharmacy
  5. Expiration date and refill information, including the prescription reorder number
